A land with an intriguing history and unique culture, full with magical traditions and secrets. A land characterised by surreal landscapes with high mountains, endless plateaus, valleys, and never ending rocky beaches. But above all, a land where the friendliness of the people is beyond limits. This is Turkey.
Sport climbing in Turkey only started in 1993. Since it is a relatively new sport, the climbing community is not very large and consists only of an estimated 600 enthusiastic rock climbers. Nevertheless the sport is becoming more and more popular and, at the moment, over 15 different climbing areas can be found in Turkey with hundreds of routes. Soon these numbers will be out of date - the potential for new routes is huge and growing numbers of local and foreign climbers are developing them.
